An exemplary personality of success, fulfillment, and happiness!
Ketan set his sights on a successful and meaningful career at a very young age. He was born into a typical middle-class family in the 1980s, in India. Growing up, Dr. Ketan surrounded himself with his areas of interest for science, mathematics, art, music and reading. He was brought up in an environment that centered around a strong work ethic, valued education, morality, and emphasized contribution.
Being a doctor is fairly revered in Asian culture and is considered a very noble profession. After 14 years in university entailing serious and intensive training starting with medical school, immigration to Canada, residency, subspecialty and research training, he started working in his first professional job.
Ultimately, upon deep pondering, he realized that his drive for a career had been at the expense of many of his passions. He thought to himself, “No longer was it acceptable for me to only appear successful. I needed to reconnect with myself.”
He mulled over and said, “I needed to find a pathway to reconnect my parts with the whole.”
To feed this idea, he took a 3-year intensive individualized leadership training program which revamped his thought process. He completed an executive leadership certificate where he was exposed to the concept of life coaching and became a certified life coach.
“My coaching focus is on SELF (Success, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Finance) and I continue to actively refine and expand my skills,” says Dr. Ketan assertively.
Dr. Francis Yoo has been his close ally. They wondered how some people achieve amazing success and on the other hand, the majority of people experience some form of distress or discomfort most of the time in their lives.
Thus, to address these concerns they were compelled to present their investigations in their first book – “The Legendary Quest” – which aims to guide the reader as they gain self-awareness and act as a catalyst in their own hero’s journey.
This book presents the principles of success, fulfillment, and happiness. It throws light on how we all fall trapped in endless pits of achievement, comparison, arrival mirage, workaholism, pursuit for more, and even the capitalistic notion of inadequacy.
In his introspective words, he said, “With my self-awareness and intentional behavior, when I feel challenged, experience failure, or feel overworked, I practice the principles presented in “The Legendary Quest” and try to consciously manage my attention and intention.”
His mission is to catalyze the lives of millions of professionals globally in the next 5 years through creating evidence-based content and constructive coaching.
While sharing his thoughts on the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact, he mentioned that COVID-19 affected all of us in many adverse ways, but it also taught us to think in new ways, collectively address global challenges, create new ways of communication, built resilience, and reiterated the value of relationships, and a sense of community.
Dr. Ketan’s strengths lie in the ability to be futuristic in the sense that he can evaluate the pros and cons of any given situation. He elaborates and says, “This helps me to evaluate all possible outcomes with clarity and allows speedy decision-making, which, in turn, enhances my productivity and performance.” He harbors an eternal intrinsic motivation to strive for excellence which allows him to put in all the extra effort needed to achieve his goals with conviction. This is a must for any entrepreneur like me!
When we asked him about his weakness, he expressed, “Sometimes I forget the need to rest and recuperate, and put in long hours! When faced with challenges, I sometimes forget the big picture and engage in trying to control things outside of my control rather than letting things unfold and manifest. Embracing the unknown is a skill that I am working on developing.”
Furthermore, Dr. Ketan adorns many feathers on his hat. He has published more than 125 peer-reviewed articles in less than 15 years that have significantly contributed to improvement in patient care. He has received more than 40 research grants and several national and international awards to date. He humbly says, “I have also been fortunate to have presented my research around the globe.” He also received the ‘Hind Rattan Award’ in 2022 and has been nominated for the ‘Nav Rattan Award’ in 2023.
When asked about his mantra for growth, development, and success, he elaborates on the idea and says, “I humbly realize that I am the medium for the work I’m trying to do. I realize I’ve always been standing on the shoulders of giants so that I can see farther than anyone else. I am
beginning to realize that I just starting to experience and comprehend the universal unmanifested source of intelligence and consciousness!”
