Meet, Ms. Aditi Parekh, a sassy entrepreneur, socialite, fashion and global business curator, shares about her exclusive ventures.
Hailing from a bureaucratic business family in Delhi, and married into a business family in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, Ms. Aditi Parekh shares that her struggles were plenty. She is a graduate of the popular Delhi University and an MBA in International Business Management from the premiere Fore School of Management, New Delhi.
Challenges in shifting from the national capital to a small town, and creating opportunities for business as well as personal growth was challenging. She worked hard to create her own space in the field of business, as a professional and social organization.
It was during her recce to Gujarat and observed that Ahmedabad was a flourishing city with great potential. The city was rich and diverse in art & culture, however, she identified a lacuna in Fashion & International Logistics facilities. She later decided to bring in their experience, and connect the Delhi, Mumbai, Jodhpur corridor with Ahmedabad. The larger plan was to contribute to the growth and exchange of fashion, art and cultural development in totality.
Soon after her launch of ‘The Fashion Edit’ – a Fashion Trunk Show their reach grew tremendously by fourfolds. Aditi, with her keen sense of fashion, organizes a showcase with curated fashion, accessories and brands. These trunk shows express exuberance, class and luxury while showcasing the latest collections from designers, boutique owners, and brands to enable business in tier-II cities of India. Other than her business of Fashion & Logistics “The Thar Dry Ports – Hasti Petro Chemical & Shipping Ltd at Sanand in Ahmedabad and Jodhpur, Aditi was instrumental in laying the foundation for YFLO, Ahmedabad Chapter in 2016. Young FICCI Ladies Organisation (YFLO) is a unique platform for young women from diverse professional and entrepreneurial backgrounds to interact with each other, learn, explore new avenues and launch their ideas in a supportive and nurturing environment. The primary objective of YFLO as a social organization is to promote entrepreneurship and professional excellence in women. Aditi as a chairperson for YFLO had explored multiple educational and vocational
training programs, talks, seminars, panel discussions and workshops on varied subjects especially concerning women and business. With her endeavors YFLO, today stands at 200+ members. She now plans to diverge into the Real Estate & Construction Industry through a new company promoted by her ‘Thar Lifespaces’ having corporate Office in Ahmedabad & Construction Site “Thar Meadows” at Jodhpur.
Aditi expresses, that their creativity, marketing strategies, constant innovation, excellence in service are what pitches them differently from the competitors. Another unique selling proposition they have is economies of scale, owing to multicity and country operations, appropriate use of technology and grabbing the first-movers advantage.
Upon enquiring about the Government Policies that affect her Business, Aditi reverted promptly, that ‘In
the business of fashion the taxation policies and currency fluctuations are usually the deal makers or breakers. It is a competitively stiff segment and while we are looking to explore the volatile yet exciting luxury market. Let us hope we can make that sustainable considering the taxation policies remain standardized.’
