Mr. Abishek K. Ramesh, Executive Director, Kairali Ayurvedic Group, ambassador for Ayurvedic brilliance in cosmeceuticals, shares his story.

A young ardent follower of Ayurveda himself, coupled with his ancestral roots from Kerala – the hub of Ayurveda, led him to `join ‘Kairali Ayurvedic Group’. His undying passion to spread hybrid ayurvedic
centers and products makes him a global ambassador of natural, ayurvedic cosmeceuticals. Kairali Ayurvedic Group is famous for its medicinal and cosmetic products, with a profound name in the Spa & Wellness industry. The group’s business practices extend to traditional Ayurvedic medicine created from the knowledge of ancient Vedas and the Ved’s (ayurvedic doctors’ ) precise, calibrated instructions.
Abishek is qualified as a Bachelor of Technology (Mechanical) from the New York Institute of Technology.

Although After realizing his true calling pretty early that Ayurveda was his and the country’s future, he rejoined the family business in 2008 and since then has been passionately working towards the growth of the Company. In the process, Abishek reckoned that in spite of India’s centuriesold lineage in traditional Ayurveda, the overall promotion and awareness was a big lacuna. People lacked basic knowledge of ayurvedic remedies overseas and hence limiting the use of such high-potential products for personal care could be tapped. Not to his surprise the usage of ayurvedic cosmeceuticals was limited and perishing in parts of India, where consumerism was on an all-time high. He then dedicated the initial two years of his Ayurveda related professional career, in research, market study and understanding of the multi-faceted market, along with improvising the various aspects of operations.

His grooming amidst expert disciplinarians helped him understand the Company from its roots and has enabled him to study the need for Ayurveda in the market. He gradually took charge of the pharmaceuticals and Ayurvedic centers division of the Kairali Ayurvedic Group. Abishek’s keen foresight and detailed market study helped him, develop new packaging more acquainted for today’s consumer – pocket-friendly, easy to use, and authenticity are a few parameters his Research & Development and Product Team worked upon. The newly revamped products and range were completely admired and sold like hotcakes in the markets their products were placed.

Further, Abishek focused on the idea of providing experiential treatment to consumers. Essentially
Ayurveda Day Care centers, led by qualified Ved’s (Ayurvedic Doctors), provided for customized Ayurvedic therapeutic Massages through medicinal oils, coupled with the Kairali’s homegrown medicines. The premise was to offer unique, need-based therapeutic essential oils and ayurvedic compositions, as a method of not just expanding the Kairali’s footprints across the world, but also driving the franchising model, in turn increasing awareness about Ayurveda. Today, Kairali Ayurvedic Group has 35 Ayurvedic centers operational across 10 countries and a few new business models ready to be launched anytime soon.

His model of Spa & Wellness franchise opportunities have also helped spa owners around the world develop Ayurvedic wellness centers, health retreats and spa hotels along with helping entrepreneurs with everything from conceptualization to training and marketing. Kairali Ayurvedic Groups’ products though highly appreciated were available within a limited area. By analyzing the market requirement, Mr. Abishek has made it possible for the products vertical to reach over 180 Ayurvedic products with about 40.15% year-on-year growth. The group is aggressively looking for passionate partnerships in other countries in order to expand their business, while also inspiring the world with the brilliance of Ayurveda.
