Sir Dr. Hari Krishna Maram


Sir Dr.Hari Krishna Maram, Digital Brand Ambassador and Chairman of Vision Digital India, Vice Chancellor – Global Digital University, USA narrates his journey.

Dr. Maram’s work in the field of Management and Management Education spans over 24 years. He has an illustrious career in education and has served as the Governing Council Member at AIMA (All India Management Association), Vice President at AIMS (Association of Indian Management Schools). Additionally, he was Honorable Secretary-BMA (Bangalore Management Association), Treasurer-Education Promotion Society for India (EPSI) South India, Executive Board Member at NIPM and Chairperson Higher Education Forum–Karnataka. His efforts in management education have been recognized on numerous occasions by the Government of India. He is also a part of the UGC Committee.

Besides being an excellent academician and educationist, Dr Maram is involved with a large number of CSR activities. He is the District Chairman of Lion’s International and Trustee of Lions Super Speciality Eye Hospital & Lions District Service Foundation. Additionally, he is the Chief Mentor of the great initiative “Bangalore Green” which aims at environmental conservation in Bangalore. Close observation and proximity to the education system as a board member of prestigious organizations, made Dr. Maram consider that many bright young minds do not get to live their dreams of making it big in the corporate world, primarily owing to the existing educational system in India. There exists a vast divide between the education that gets imparted to them and industry requirements.

Another fundamental problem with the education industry is that it is upgrading itself at such a breakneck speed that most educational institutions cannot keep up. Hence the courses they offer are becoming outdated and obsolete, and students armed with such degrees find themselves to be inadequately trained to make the cut in a highly-competitive industry. This is precisely, what Vision Digital India aims to address. They created a course that is precisely tailored to meet the demands of the corporate world and ensure that students are industry-ready.

Considering the scenario of the current education system, Dr. Maram launched Vision Digital India under the umbrella of the Imperial Group that aims to impart digital education to over 1 lakh students in the upcoming 2 years. This upbeat, need-of-the-hour program received a phenomenal response, Vision Digital India has grown immensely from a small 30 students classroom to training more than 1 lakh students each year for consecutive 5 years across India.
