Anoop Gupta has succeeded where many hesitate to tread. A veteran of the direct selling industry, he has impacted the lives of more than 8-10 lakh individuals, helping them turn entrepreneurs and become financially independent.
The primary reason he was able to do this was his refusal to settle for the average. “One of my biggest strengths is that I keep on trying until I don’t find a satisfactory solution, but I never settle for average. I am always ready to learn and update myself in my domain. I don’t believe in people’s opinions or anything that can distract me from my goals. I do take a lot of risks, sometimes I fail, but I never give up,” says Anoop.
This tenacity is what led Anoop to his early success. Born in a simple and humble middle-class family, Anoop was the eldest of three siblings. His father owned a medical store while his mother is a homemaker. He did his schooling from JNV (Boarding school), Shivpuri, MP, where he took Maths and Biology in 10+2, but failed to qualify for medical. He asked his father for 1 year prep time, but being financially challenged, his father suggested he complete graduation and get a job. And that’s how Anoop ended up completing his Masters in Biotechnology.
He began his career as a Medical Representative with India’s leading Pharma MNC. Next he went to Himachal for a job in Pharma Production. His third job was as an Area Sales manager at Dr Reddy’s Lab (Oncology-Cancer Medicines). Here one of his colleagues met with an accident and died on the spot. This incident had a very deep impact on Anoop’s mind. He realised there is no financial security in a private job and started searching for opportunities where he could create passive income for his family.
In 2011, he was introduced to one of the world’s leading direct selling companies through his Doctor friend. Initially, he was very skeptical as all his family and friends advised him against this industry. But he listened to his inner voice, worked hard, and achieved Founder Platinum level in just 3 years, also qualifying for a trip to Canada.
Then in 2015, he got to know about Vestige business opportunity. Vestige is a leading direct-selling company dealing in world-class wellness products. Anoop did a lot of research about the company management, product quality, marketing plan, and systems. He also got an opportunity to meet the MD, Gautam Bail, and this meeting was a turning point in his career. He took the decision to build Vestige business with full energy and excitement, and never looked back.
“Month after month we were growing, as were our team leaders. I am very positive and aggressive for me and my team’s growth. I want to earn 1 crore per month through Vestige, and this can only be achieved by helping enough leaders,” says Anoop, who has been the fastest and youngest highest PIN/rank-DUCD achiever in Vestige.
Speaking about how he overcame the challenges in his personal and professional life, he says, “Bigger the challenge, bigger the success. Thus I’m always ready for a challenge.” How did he face the challenge of the pandemic, we ask Anoop, to which he says, “When the first lockdown was announced, I was really tense about my business. But within a few weeks, we moved our entire business development process online and eventually, had good growth even during lockdown. Since we are in the FMCG, Health and Wellness (immunity booster supplements) sector, we had regular product demand. This is the beauty of Vestige – I can proudly say that we are truly recession proof.”
As per KPMG, FICCI report Indian direct-selling industry is going to be 65,000 crore by 2025. So if you want to become an Entrepreneur, this is the right time and right industry where you can start your own business without any major investment or experience, says Anoop.
