Vivacious, Versatile and Voracious
Richa Gulati’s seraphic beauty, alluring screen presence and undeniable charm have made her a favourite amongst the audience. She is a popular model appearing in many music videos and is now embarking on a journey as an actor. Her dedication and diligence have made her conquer mountains and set her on the path of glory with her incredible work so far.
Delhi girl Richa who had always excelled in academics and aspired to be a doctor, saw her path take a detour to become a successful model. She completed her MBA and even started to pursue her PhD, but during that time, the people around her urged her to try her luck in modelling. And since then, she has not looked back and plunged deep into the glamorous entertainment industry world.
“I was a little oblivious of my own charm. It took some time for me to properly channel the recognition I received. Though I was pursuing a PhD in Public Health at that time, the ultimate aim of my life was to become an actress. However, with time, I realised that if I could enhance my acting talent and beauty, I could achieve much more. So, I began my career in the entertainment industry.” says Richa.
This beauty with brains participated in numerous beauty pageants and won many of them, including Miss India Heritage, Diva Teen, Miss Beautiful, Miss Diva, and Miss Heritage! After which, she started her modelling career with print and television commercials in 2014. She has even done print shoots for top Bollywood designers like Manish Malhotra, Asha Milani, and Esha Kaul, to name a few. She becomes a recognisable face after doing popular campaigns for branks like Goddess, Club Merino and Lakme.
She has starred in music videos, including Andher Raat by King Kazi & Viruss, Black Dot by Shabbi Maha, and Pyar de Pange by Ajitl. The year 2019 saw her appear in music videos like Jab Jhumke by Kuwar Virk & Shehzada Daulatpuria, Introvert by Yash Wadali, Lekh: Padamshree by Hansraj Vs Yuvraj Hans, Queen by Girik Aman. Her other music videos, which came out in 2020 and 2021, include Aadatan by Navi, Killer Looks by Ravneet Singh, Badami Rang and Flame by Harby Singh, Paro and Ghav.
“I started working directly from albums only in the Punjabi industry; luckily, I got a break with all renowned singers. All I have done with top records. I am very much excited about my upcoming series as it involves lots of
challenges,” says Richa.
Her vivid persona and captivating face have made her lead many music videos for Zee Music Records, Acme Music, T Series, Venus Music, and SpeedRecords, amongst others. Capturing the audience’s hearts, she got her first role in a Telugu movie called ‘Sivaranjani’ in 2019, where she played the female protagonist.
To brush up on her acting skills, she took lessons at the National School of Drama for her upcoming web series, where she plays a central character but does not reveal further details. She remarks, “For any artist, homework is sharpening skills so that you don’t hesitate when you perform in front of experienced co-stars. Thus, since this is my debut web series, I didn’t want to keep any stone unturned. attended many workshops and learned under Mukti coach by NSD.” Besides the web series, she has many upcoming albums with Tseries & Zee Music.
Richa says inspiring words for aspiring artists starting in the industry. She encourages them by stating, “It is really difficult to make space in Bollywood when a lot of people are already in the race. But at the same time, I believe in one thing that hard work has no shortcuts. That’s the only reason I believe in the consistency of the work.” She also feels that it is important not to lose hope, and eventually, things will fall into place. Believing in oneself is the essence of achieving great heights, giving the courage to overcome any challenges.
