A LADY LIVEWIRE ON WORLD STAGE
Destiny might be written, and fate might be unplanned, but happiness, passion, and believing in oneself are definitely one thing you have power over. Pageant trainer, event coordinator, and judge, Mariama Sanyang is a woman of principles from Gambia, West Africa. But that alone doesn’t summarize the twenty-two- year-olds life.
Currently majoring in information systems technology and minoring in economics, she is a graceful internal beauty pageant model. Besides being a student and a model, Mariama is also an up-and-coming entrepreneur who believes that there is nothing more beautiful than to be on a platform where you feel empowered and can empower. In 2020, she instated ARC QUEEN ENTERTAINMENT (aQe), a nationally registered entertainment enterprise set up to promote entrepreneurship through pageantry and skills development to create a sustainable impact.
Her journey on stage began when she was a student until she grew to represent her faculty and finally became an award-winning global model worth all the glory and crowns. The two-year-long journey has been nothing more than an evolutionary phase of growth while holding on to the pride of representing the Gambia on world-stage platforms. In 2018, she won the Face of UTG- Cultural Ambassador Award. Mariama is also the holder of other titles like Miss Smiling Coast International Gambia, Miss Friendship International Gambia 2019, Miss Friendship International World Finale – Miss Sports Challenge Winner (2019), and Miss Inter-Global Gambia 2020/21.
Mariama finds sheer delight in inspiring the girls of her country and giving back to society for making her the powerful woman she is today.
Aspiring to become a business technologist, Mariama is a mirror image of determination, hard work, earnestness, consistency, self-worth, self-empowerment, and confidence. She is a strong advocate of putting yourself before anyone or anything, and this is what makes her the lady livewire that she is.
