Global IT Leader and Mentor
In a world that regenerates everyday, Dr. Siva G Subramanian, global IT exponent, stays on top of things with his thirst for learning all that is ‘new’. “The abundance of knowledge in the world, the never ending passion for learning, and the impulse to create something new, inspires me to keep going and growing,” he says with pride.
Dr. Siva’s educational qualifications are a testimony to this belief. Born in his native Madurai, Tamil Nadu, to a father who was a Central Government employee and mother a homemaker, Siva did his schooling across various cities in India such as Madurai, Dindigul, Chennai and Delhi. He completed his Bachelors in Electronics & Communication Engineering from the University of Madras, International MBA from Russian Ulyanovsk State University, Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from the University of Swahili, and Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) from Azteca University.
With great interest in IT, Siva couldn’t wait to implement his ideas and develop new technologies. He started off as an IT professional in 2004 at STPI, Coimbatore. “It was tough to handle things when I was a newbie, but like they say – Practice makes a man perfect. I improvised myself and adapted to my surroundings. The main idea behind entering the software world was to make new discoveries and learn more about the tech world. Interesting facts about Computer Science and Information Technology have always fascinated me, and that spark led me to thrive in this field,” he reveals.
Siva travelled across 25+ countries, building up his specialisation in Data & Analytics, Applied AI, Machine Learning across multiple IT portfolios, and more. Today, he is based in the UK and is working as an Associate Vice President, Global Chief Data Officer, at Searce Inc.
Ask him what makes him stand out in the vast tech fraternity, and Siva replies, “Understanding the customer’s strategic needs, business objectives, translating it to create data driven cloud-based digital transformation deals, and convey compelling value propositions.”
Siva has built various practices and Business units from scratch to accelerate growth in a short span with consistent stability. He specialises in Sales, Strategic Solutions, P&L Consulting, Pre-sales, Delivery of information management advisory, and Data architecture & implementation services in various industry verticals. He has built a Data & Analytics Business Unit in his last three organisations with the headcount of 200. The growth was 300% and his proven expertise by managing large Teams and Teamwork at the highest levels. He also introduced new customer logos, increased revenue for existing clients, and over achieved the target every year.
In the midst of all this, how does he overcome the challenges? He tells us frankly, “It is tough to balance work and family. Sometimes professional pressure can affect personal life and vice versa. But if you are patient enough, you can be happy and successful in both roles.”
Siva’s biggest weapon in any crisis, according to him, is self motivation. “People search for motivation around them, but I have it all within me. I learn from, lean on, and am most motivated by myself. It is also important to never forget your failures and insults, as it paves the path for your success in an accelerated way,” he opines.
A multi-faceted young man, Siva has a variety of achievements to his credit. He won the International Achiever Award from Indian Achievers Forum 2021-22; has carried out projects in a wide range of countries like the UK, Australia, USA, UAE, Singapore and others; and has 75+ IT certifications including Google Certified Fellow.
Moreover, he is a sought after industry Speaker, Author of various IT blogs and book releases, and a Mentor to students across the globe. He has been a Chief guest for various college events and a Guest speaker for higher degree webinars and cloud computing technologies.
Methodical and focussed, Siva is sure of what the future will entail: “With a Start-up to Scale Growth Mindset, I wish to enable my own brand. To have a stabilised Business Model and industrialising is my key goal, and I am striving towards building my own marque,” he states.
Defining his idea of success, Dr. Siva sums up: “Success is a process. Sometimes, there are stones thrown at you during the journey.. convert them into milestones by staying humble so that people will give you love. If you believe in yourself more than anything, you will continue to move along the way by destroying every hurdle that comes in your path.”
