Always a true hustler, Vaibhav Tambe much like other Mumbaikars has enhanced this characteristic trait over the years. Technology and teaching have always been fascinating to Vaibhav and ever since his engineering days he has been juggling between studying, student council activities and daily visits for teaching and coaching. Strongly supported by his parents he considers himself lucky and exposure enabled him to build an excellent work ethic and integrity that later fuelled quick growth in his banking career.
State Bank of India provided Vaibhav with the perfect opportunity for a Techno-functional role in transaction banking products that required a combination of Technology and Management. Gradually he evolved into managing pan-India transaction banking sales for the top 8 largest business verticals in IndusInd Bank. Vaibhav claims that “this journey of building a strong team & client network of 1500+ corporates/institutions sparked the idea of building TransBnk – Transaction Banking Platform for solving B2B Payments. There are a lot of gaps in B2B transaction journeys, be it cross-border or domestic but we are committed to ensuring a seamless experience.”
As a Founder & CEO of TransBnk Solution Pvt Ltd, he aims to re-engineer ‘Global Transaction Banking’ and catalyse businesses to be agile, secure & robust. Vaibhav Tambe and his team’s primary focus has been on Transaction Banking Products like Payments, Cash Management, Escrows, Remittances & Trade / Channel Finance, which constitutes the Core Transactional activity for Corporate, Institutions & Fintech; to which the TransBnk is completely aligned. The deep domain expertise and relevant subject matters of the Founder and Advisory team are the key difference. This is followed by an experience of a cumulative span of 60+ years across business, products, strategy, leadership, technology & regulatory domains.
Endowed with a strong network of friends and an understanding family, he believes to have achieved a well-balanced personal and professional life. He commends his team to have worked on the mantra ‘work hard and then party harder.’ Having colleagues and co-founders as close friends is truly a blessing, he believes!
Transaction banking is a vast yet less explored domain with regular expansion coming up from his end and so he says that the “sky is the limit”. Vaibhav aims to create a Global SaaS platform with cutting-edge technologies like Blockchain / DLT & AI / ML. During his IndusInd Bank stint, he had experienced massive growth, with the adaption of newer product lines & problem-solving attitude & now aims to go exponential.
The driving passion for Vaibhav Tambe is bringing the best out of resources – Technology & Teams keeps him awake at night. Being an honest, optimistic Banker with the highest level of integrity has helped him and his team to build some great relationships with customers by making their life easier and simpler. The group works on this motto are deeply passionate to see them successful and happy.
The COVID-19 Pandemic catalysed the latent need for Digitization and helped Transaction Bankers like Vaibhav to penetrate further into making customers’ banking easier. He thinks that the pandemic provided much-needed time to reflect upon his entrepreneurial dreams and provide what the customers further needed. With the lending ecosystem enabler product stack, Vaibhav wants to make sure the cash flow-based and secured credit facilities are democratised. He exclaims that “today, the overall cost of the B2B Payment transaction is much higher & there are a lot of regulatory aspects which need to be taken care of. With Infrastructure solutions around Cross-border, Trade Finance & Supply chain finance we want the Indian Fintech & startup ecosystem to look at us as a trustworthy partner.”
Always a hustler who respected and valued relationships above everything else, his professional and personal network has been his strength to rely upon. As per others, he has always been a reachable person who can spark a conversation. His biggest achievement as well has been his family that have a feeling of trust and love that keep him motivated. Also, being one of the youngest people to manage Pan-India Transaction Banking Sales is another one of his achievements! This in turn added up to be identified as 50 Most Influential Payments professional’20; Most admired Fintech professional & top 50 Blockchain influencers in India.
Vaibhav has a very simple Mantra, growth should be inclusive and it should make an impact outside our sphere of influence. Innovations should pivot on collaboration across the ecosystem and optimize growth across. He parts by sharing a few words by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam: “When learning is purposeful, creativity blossoms.
