Founder of Atelierele Tamarei, Committed and Dedicated
Hailing from Romania, the driving passion for Tamara Grigore has been working with children and helping them endlessly. In the earlier years after obtaining her PhD, she avoided similar work with children knowing the importance and impact an educator has on their development. Her daughter Xenia has significantly impacted her evolution as she is a person who now works with children and teens. “So far, I have learned that the most important thing that has helped me to grow is having patience, first of all, with myself and not putting extra pressure on myself when I accept new challenges.”
Developing ‘Atelierele Tamarei – Tamara’s Workshops’ was due to the amazing, passionate and dedicated students that motivated Tamara to pursue her passion. Their desire and dedication during the courses motivated her to go further and develop new programs for their growth in the IT field. She exclaims. “every business must come from the need of the person next to you. And about the need to acquire digital knowledge, I don’t think anyone doubts it after the experience of recent years. Digital education is still in its infancy in Romania and is continuously developing. I started on this path because I wanted to do things my way: with attention to detail, with love for the child, with the thought of the child’s interests, and with the desire to transform knowledge acquisition into the child’s self-confidence and ability to cope with daily challenges.” The team outlining Tamara’s Workshops aims to develop the digital competencies of children and teenagers and increase self-confidence and initiative spirit.
The fear of not having enough resources for business development has been Tamara’s biggest challenge. Patience and persistence helped her find the best solutions to resolve this with the minimum possible costs. Her IT Hub is about getting the job done with dedication, passion, and patience. She believes luck is an unforeseen event that brings positive outcomes, but relying on it is not enough to sustain a successful business, whereas hard work, determination and a strategic approach are critically important.
Tamara believes in being a tiger and not participating in the ‘rat race’. Strength, independence and fearlessness and being bold to stand up for what she believes in, resonate with the qualities of a tiger. She is confident and proactive in pursuing her goals and ever since leaving her parents house at the age of 18, she has been shaped to face the challenging situations that come her way. Post pregnancy, the first years of her daughter’s life coincided with the period of courses at the doctoral school. She later suspended her studies for two years and gave up the opportunity to go to the French doctoral school. She loves acquiring knowledge, travelling and meeting new people, but she also realised that no sacrifice is too great for your child! Tamara’s main goal in life as a working woman has been to find an activity that keeps her connected to her child’s needs and supports her in every way. This led me to start working with children in the IT field 10 years ago. My daughter is my main source of inspiration! The IT field beautifully helps children develop a multitude of skills necessary in the digital world we live in. This is why another important goal is to help children and teenagers form the necessary skills to face future challenges to make their way more accessible.
As a testament to her hard work, she received the Outstanding Leadership Award at Education 2.0 Conference in Dubai in December 2022. This has been of enormous honour and she is ever grateful to be part of such a supportive community whilst she dedicates the award to all the children she has worked with! Tamara shares that Leadership is about creating more leaders, helping people to develop near us and to discovering and developing their abilities. A leader’s greatest qualities are self-awareness, situational awareness and excellent communication skills. It is essential to be fully aware of the events happening within the business organisation as well as the business environment as a whole
Lastly, she shares that developing her own education hub has been her biggest achievement. This is laid on several values such as supporting passion and developing skills, believing in every child, trust and collaboration for learning, teaching and mentoring children, creating a safe and friendly learning environment and learning through play/practical projects. “For me, every child has enormous potential that can be developed in an environment where you trust the community and feel relaxed and happy. “
