Maya Angelou said it right, “Success is liking yourself, liking what you do and liking how you do it.” So, when you start liking your work and keep up scaling yourself, success truly follows your path, your goal. Similar is the case with Leader by Heart and Profession, Mr. Karan Primlani who has become a successful personality by winning many hearts with his inspirational sessions.
Completed Bachelor of Arts (English Literature) from Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi in 2002, Mr. Karan Primlani had already made up his mind to join the corporate world and make an impact. Further, he opted for the Post-Graduate Programme in Management (Strategic Marketing and Leadership & Change Management) from the prestigious Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad in 2006, which helped him widen his horizons further.
An achiever knows that there is no return in anything unless you put in your 100%. Mr. Karan Primlani is also one such person who set his foot in accepting the challenges and bringing results. “I started my professional journey with Perfect Relations in 2002 as a Senior Executive where I learned about Client servicing, PR management, media relations and brand strategies. I was also a part of various image surveys,” says Mr Karan Primlani. He is now a regular speaker at forums, B Schools and industry conclaves. With every job shift, he kept adding newer skills to his kitty as Mr. Karan believes learning never stops and needs to always grow and evolve. “With every shift, I kept on learning new things and accepting challenging tasks to strengthen my potential and explore the best of my productivity,” shares Mr Karan Primlani, who was reporting to Senior Management when he was working at Maytas Holdings Limited after completing his MBA from ISB, Hyderabad. There, he was part of the team working on business case/models and viability studies for new business initiatives such as Retirement Communities, Affordable Housing and Warehousing within the real estate space.
Further, in 2006, he joined Deloitte and won several awards there. He was also one of the youngest Assistant Managers, who had managed a team of Analysts and supported US-based marketing teams with Marketing and Communication plans and marketing collaterals. “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of passion, perseverance and hard work,” says Mr Karan Primlani, currently a part of the Leadership Team and Head of Operations and Business Head, Owner services at Magicbricks. He now has around two decades of work experience across a diverse range of profiles and portfolios. “I am a keen follower of the startup internet space and have played an active role in mentoring a few startups,” proudly says Mr Karan Primlani, Ex- Regional Head – Portfolio Advisory Services at Knight Frank India.
Such a diverse experience came to Mr Karan Primlani at very young age, but without endurance one finds it difficult to move ahead in life. Active participation in sports honed his team skills and gave him the patience required to handle different situations. He has always been unstoppable when it comes to exploring new roles and honing the skills to work upon new roles. When he joined Knight Frank India, Mr Karan Primlani had a tough time adjusting but he made the most of it. “I knew nothing comes easy and it requires hardcore passion and struggles with a focused vision of today and tomorrow to hit the best deal. So, I took the challenge and pitched and won business for a new vertical called Portfolio Advisory. Here, I was managing end–to–end services from the acquisition of property, analysis and documentation, disposition, legal, taxation and other ancillary services for clients,” confidently asserted Mr Karan Primlani.
Currently, serving at MagicBricks as Operations Head and Business Head Owner Services where he manages a team across the FOS, Tele-calling to onboard and monetize clients and at the same time manages other aspects of the business. His efforts have changed the outlook and brought in a much stronger vision to his team… “Learning is at every second corner. One needs to be open to learning and keep learning throughout one’s lifetime”. Mr Karan Primlani has recently won an award for “Best Versatile leader of the year in Asia”, awarded by Leadership Federation at the Asia Leadership Awards.
