Briiliant, Benevolant and Beaming
Glynis Cabansag is the Founder and Managing Lawyer of GC Law, specialising in Property Law, Corporate Law, and Estate Planning. Having been a lawyer for more than a decade, her experience from public service to building a thriving law firm is driven by her mission to protect client’s rights, elevate legal practice standards, and create meaningful legacies. Beyond litigation and business law, she is deeply invested in developing people—empowering her team, mentoring young lawyers, and supporting specific charitable causes. She believes true leadership lies in inspiring transformation through example, and she is proud to represent women who lead with strength and heart.
Glynis’s journey began in public service, where she served as Legal Head of the Treasurer’s Office and Acting Assistant Assessor for two major cities in Metro Manila. After nearly a decade, she transitioned to private practice and embraced litigation challenges. In 2022, she took a leap of faith, founded Glynis Cabansag Law Office (GC Law), and focused on the areas she knows best: property dispute and corporate law. From handling complex property disputes to guiding corporations through legal compliance, she remained committed to protecting what matters most to her clients. GC Law is expanding today, and she is grateful to lead a purpose-driven and people-centred firm.
She says, “Our property law practice is litigious and focused on protecting clients’ ownership and resolving disputes, while our corporate practice provides retainer services to businesses, ensuring regulatory compliance and legal stability. I am also a certified Trust and Estate Planner, helping clients structure their assets with foresight. Beyond legal work, I lead a consultancy firm handling asset management and investment.”
For Glynis, her greatest inspiration has been the desire to create a lasting impact—whether for her clients, her team, or the community. The values of excellence, compassion, and purpose drive her. Her goals are to grow GC Law into a leading firm known for integrity and results, mentor the next generation of ethical lawyers, and continue supporting causes close to her heart.
One of her greatest strengths is her ability to lead with strategy and heart. She is an achiever and visionary but values empathy, structure, and empowering others. She says, “I’ve learned to thrive in uncertainty by staying anchored in purpose. My weakness? For years, I carried the weight of being a “superwoman”, thinking I had to do it all perfectly. It led to burnout. My greatest lesson was learning to ask for help, trust my team, and embrace progress over perfection.”
According to Glynis, balance begins with knowing what matters most. She learned to set healthy boundaries, delegate with trust, and prioritise her well-being without guilt. Fitness, prayer, and quiet mornings keep her centred, while quality time with her daughter keeps her grounded. She has embraced the idea that she doesn’t have to do everything—just the things that align with her values. By living intentionally, she can lead her firm life with clarity, grace, and purpose.
In her personal time, Glynis loves slowing down and being present. She unwinds by working out, journaling, and spending a quiet morning with coffee and prayer. Travel is her favourite reset. It feeds her soul, sparks creativity, and gives her time with her daughter away from work demands. She also enjoys pampering herself with skincare or a good massage. These moments of stillness, movement, and joy help her reconnect with who she is beyond her professional role.
She describes her leadership style as grounded, empowering, and purpose-driven. She remarks, “I lead by example, with integrity, accountability, and compassion at the core. I believe in developing people, not just managing tasks. I’m clear with expectations but also create space for growth, learning, and collaboration. I value open communication, celebrate small wins, and carefully give honest feedback. As a leader, I see myself as a guide—holding the vision, trusting the team, and building a culture where excellence and empathy can thrive.”
She shares her candid thoughts with the readers and says, “To every reader walking their path, know that you don’t need to have it all figured out to move forward. Trust your journey, honour your values, and lead with purpose. Success isn’t just about titles or recognition; it’s about creating impact, staying true to who you are, and showing up with consistency and heart. Keep evolving, keep learning, and never underestimate the quiet power of resilience. When you’re aligned with your truth, the right people and opportunities will find you.”
Glynis was honoured to be awarded Outstanding Property Dispute Attorney of the Year in 2023 by two separate award-giving bodies: Gawad Agila and Southeast Asian Premier Business and Achiever Awards. She was also named Leading Managing Partner of the Year in Litigation and Real Estate at the 2024 Lex Falcon Global awards—recognitions that reflect client service and professional excellence.
