Revolutionizing women’s healthcare in Gujarat
Carrying forward a legacy of innovation and social welfare, the dynamic husband-wife duo of Dr. Anand Patel and Dr. Twinkal Patel have revolutionized women’s healthcare in Gujarat through world-class hospitals, state-of-the-art equipment, and care with courtesy. Dr. Anand is a renowned Senior Consultant Gynecologist, Laparoscopic Surgeon, and IVF Specialist, while Dr. Twinkal is a Managing Director, Social Entrepreneur, Health & Social Awareness Speaker, and a certified Life Coach.
Together, they are responsible for putting Gujarat on the medical map by launching 2 of the best specialty hospitals in Ahmedabad – Motherhood Women’s and Child Care Hospital and Motherhood IVF Center at Vadaj. They’re also Director at Satnam Motherhood IVF Centre in Rajkot, and Midas Touch Cosmetic & Skin Care Center in Ahmedabad. In addition, they will launch 2 new centers in 2024.
Interestingly, the couple come from an extended family of gynecologists in Idar, Sabarkantha. Twinkal and Anand’s story began with their marriage in 2006. Although content with their family practice in Idar, the two longed to push the boundaries of science, discover the latest in global technologies, and introduce it in their region.
To counter post operative recovery time, they turned their attention to the upcoming technique of the new millennium – Laparoscopy. Dr. Anand completed a Diploma in Advance Gynaecological Endoscopy surgery from CICE, Clermont-Ferrand-France and other certifications in maternal fetal medicine, fetal sonography, and gynecological endoscopy, eventually becoming the 1st to launch laparoscopy services in the peripheral areas.
When the couple was expecting their first child, they visited Ahmedabad for a fetal/anomaly scan which was unavailable in Idar. This visit gave birth to the idea of a complete women and child hospital. In 2012, they finally joined the dots and set in motion the Motherhood Women’s and Child Care Hospital in Sola, Ahmedabad, with superior services.
While Dr. Anand held the fort in Idar, Dr. Twinkal, while expecting her second child, relocated to Ahmedabad to oversee the development of the hospital. Faced with the administrative side of things, she completed her MBA in Healthcare and Hospital Management and became the ‘Mother of Motherhood’.
Today Motherhood, which is a NABH certified hospital, is a world-class, state-of-the-art, super speciality hospital dedicated to high-risk pregnancy, IVF, Karl storz image1S rubina 4K 3D Laparoscopy system – 1st in Ahmedabad & 15th in India, and Advance NICU/PICU pediatric department. They have 90,000+ successful patients, 14,000+ infertility success stories, and 30+ sub-center’s all over Gujarat. Dr. Anand Patel has performed 25,000+ surgeries with a team of 25+ experienced Doctors and 130+ staff.
In 2016, the duo also launched the Midas Touch Cosmetic & Skin Care Center in Ahmedabad. The 1st in expert aesthetic procedures like Gynec Cosmetic Surgery, they specialize in beauty treatments like the Mommy Makeover.
Stalwarts in the medical field, what truly makes Twinkal and Anand stand out is integrity, authenticity, and genuine care. “In the medical profession, you can’t afford even one bad day, and our dedicated staff understands this. We are proud to say that we have retained 60-70% of our original staff from Day 1,” says Dr. Twinkal.
For generations now, social work has been a part of the Patel family legacy. Anand’s father started the Trimurti Foundation which works with women, kids, and disabled people in Idar and the surrounding tribal belt. In 2013, they launched The Motherhood Foundation and conducted 300+ women & children health checkup camps under the leadership of Dr. Anand and Dr. Twinkal.
Recently, they established the Motherhood Training Centre, a Center for Excellence FOGSI Recognized (Advance Infertility / Gynaec Endoscopy / Advance Ultrasound). Their fellow doctors have enrolled in the Center to enhance their infertility practices, perform laparoscopy surgery independently, and develop thorough knowledge for gynaec, IVF, antenatal patients, USG, diagnosis, and scans.
A veritable pioneer, Dr. Anand is regularly invited as guest faculty and guest speaker at universities and conferences like Logicon National Conference, ENDO ATM 2022 workshop and conference, and Fertivision 2023. He was recently honoured with the prestigious ISAR RISING STAR award as well as the Times Health Icons award.
Dr. Twinkal too is sought after as a Health & Social Awareness Speaker, especially in the youth and mental health space. She holds a Bachelors in Homeopathy and Surgery; a certification in Gynecology and Obstetrics; and a Fellowship in Child Psychology, Adolescent and Relationship issues from NHCA in Singapore. She is currently pursuing a leadership program in Healthcare Management from IIM Ahmedabad.
A Thought Leader, she has conducted more than 1000 nation-wide seminars and webinars. She has been a speaker for drug awareness at Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for seven years and worked with the zonal directors of Gujarat. She is also a part of various organizations in the social sector – She’s a Chairperson of the Young Indian (YI) health vertical; co-chair at YIBE; National & State award Jury committee member at NSS; Committee member of women sexual harassment cell, 15-BRD Vadsar, Indian Air Force Station; and member of the Ghatlodia Vidhansabha Doctor Cell.
