Changing the World with Simple Acts of Love
LOVE… can solve it all, believes Colinda Latour. It was this single most powerful emotion that helped Colinda rise above her lack of childhood instability and transform her life with self-love. Today, as an internationally recognised Self-Love Coach, Author, and Speaker, Colinda helps women trump their lives and businesses with simple acts of love. She specializes in empowering high-achieving women to end perpetual self-pressure and the quest for external validation, guiding them to achieve the ultimate goal of loving themselves unconditionally.
Speaking about her passion, she tells us, “We can change the world by putting love into action. When you bring more love into your life and business, the more you and your business will thrive. I grew the most when I finally believed in myself and immersed myself in self-love by trusting my intuition and actions.”
A beacon of love in action, Colinda is also a published author of the acclaimed book – Living in Love: How to Create a Lifestyle of Love, Faith, Bliss, and Crazy-Ass Manifesting (All in Thirty-One Days). In addition, she is a Holy Fire Reiki Levels 1 and 2 practitioner through the Self-Love Lifestyle Coaching Certification program; a certified yoga instructor; an Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT tapping) practitioner; and a laughter yoga facilitator.
Presently based in the United Kingdom, Colinda was raised in Northern Canada as the youngest of six children. She faced a childhood marked by lack of unconditional love, with her father’s abandonment and a tumultuous family environment leaving enduring scars. However, her resilience led her to create the life-altering ‘31-Day Full-on Love Challenge’ chronicled in her book.
Awed by the challenge’s impact, Colinda realized she must share the gift of self-love and thus became a certified self-love coach and Reiki healer. Uptil then, the only thing holding her back were the barriers she had created herself. “This is why I strongly believe in coaching because it can help overcome our own limiting beliefs which can be the biggest obstacle to our success. For example, I coach high-powered women to progress without burnout or imposter syndrome creeping in.”
Colinda feels the world is slowly turning to a more compassionate place. Organizations are more conscientious and driven by keeping their employees happy, knowledgeable, and supported. Coaching, be it life, self-love, business, or leadership, is part of corporate culture now and is providing a modality for businesses to be more active in creating a healthy work life.
Here she lists some strategies that can help women achieve more at work. These should be a combination of individual actions, organizational initiatives, and broader societal changes.
- Provide coaching programs, such as self-love coaching, and support women in increasing their confidence, self-care, and self-trust.
- Start leadership development and mentorship programs specifically designed for women to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Create diversity goals and track progress to ensure a balanced representation of women at all organizational levels.
- Foster a workplace culture that values collaboration, teamwork, and mutual support.
Colinda’s own big challenge was learning how to manage her many roles. All at once, she became a CEO, accountant, sales team, and social media expert. She realized that to strike a work-life balance, mindset was crucial. “Some of the best ways to help with this are good time management practices, communication, and appreciating the special moments I get to share with my loved ones, including myself.”
She also nurtures a variety of hobbies – yoga, kickboxing, swimming, writing, reading, cooking, and hiking with her partner and dog. Her ‘me time’ is often spiritual and/or time in nature. She regularly treats herself to one of the Love Actions from her book, and she calls them Luscious, Luxury, Love Moments, that make you go, ‘Mmmmm, this is lovely…’.
What strengthens Colinda along her journey is that she is a compassionate, active listener who has traversed her own self-love journey and can hold the needed space for her clients. She feels greatly inspired by the women in her self-love coaching program; seeing their skills and talents shine through is incredibly motivating. Her other role models include her friends, who continuously learn and grow in their lives, as well as her mother, a difficult teacher, yet one who inspired her in myriad ways. “For instance, I inherited her sense of adventure and found myself moving internationally without question when an opportunity presented itself,” recalls Colinda.
Today, at the cusp of fulfilling all her dreams, Colinda’s only passion is to spread love as far as possible. She heartily believes that simple acts of love can change the world and if we consciously put love into action throughout our days, we would create a world that is run by love and not fear or hate. Wouldn’t that be a wonderful world?
