Anushka Kaushik creates massive ripples wherever she steps her foot with her acting prowess. With numerous new projects in her bag, she is in for the long haul to take the world of Bollywood and the OTT industry head-on. Already having created a huge fan following with her numerous performances on OTT shows and YouTube, her path is full of new opportunities. She was the recipient of the New Talent Of The Year- OTT category in the Global India National Stardom Award 2022. This talented actress is proud to have worked with renowned directors and actors and is winning hearts with each role.
A native of Saharanpur, which is situated in the state of Uttar Pradesh, Anushka always had a keen eye for becoming an accomplished actor. During her school and college days, she began performing regularly in professional theatre, which boosted her confidence. She took a leap of faith when she started giving auditions to make her mark as an actor.
Initially, she began doing videos on Youtube, but her Bollywood journey came from doing cameo roles in the movies like ‘SP Chouhan: A Struggling Man’ and ‘Ujda Chaman’.
Her tryst with Bollywood and Youtube continued as she showed her stunning performance in ‘Khayali Pulao’, portraying a Haryanvi girl. Her talent was recognised by the audience and critics alike, and the movie even won the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke award. She further played the role of the widow of a martyred soldier in Dice Media’s anthology web series called ‘Bravehearts’. The trailer of the web series gained significant appreciation at Cannes.
Her breakthrough performance, however, was in the Netflix movie ‘Thar’ where she worked with Anil Kapoor, Harshvarrdhan Kapoor and Satish Kaushik. Her acting was hugely appreciated, and the media acclaimed her as a rising star of the industry. She drew praise for ‘Ghar Waapsi’, which is a web series on Disney+ Hotstar, which is a coming-of-age drama.
She also starred in the hit Amazon Prime original series ‘Crash Course’ where she was one of the protagonists along with veteran actor Annu Kapoor. The actress received a great deal of praise for her complex and flawless depiction of a rape victim in “Maharani S2” with Huma Qureshi. Besides this, Anushka is also known for starring in popular shows like ‘Who’s Your Daddy S2’ on ALTBalaji and ‘Backpackers S2’ on Amazon Mini TV.
She regularly posts many photos, videos and reels on her social media channels. She has almost a million followers on Facebook, following her every move. Since the time she commenced her youtube journey, her popularity has grown in multi folds, and so have the views on her videos. Featured in over 250+ videos which include YouTube sketches and mini shows, have amassed over 300 million plus views. This is a massive achievement in itself which has made her a recognisable face in every household.
Anushka has completed filming “Patna Shukla,” a feature film with Satish Kaushik, Raveena Tandon, and Chandan Roy Sanyal for Arbaaz Khan’s production. Additionally, she recently wrapped up filming for Tigmanshu Dhulia’s web series “Garmi,” which will premiere on Sony Liv in early 2023. There are more projects lined up for her in 2023.
Most recently, she was nominated for the Best Actor in Filmfare OTT Awards for Gharwaapsi, which seals the narrative on her being an exceptional actress. Anushka is never shy to show her gratitude to her fans and loved ones who have supported her on the path to success.
