Heart-sight Psychotherapy – y/our essence is y/our currency!
As mental health assumes its long overdue significance in the contemporary global lifestyle, what sets Psychotherapist Ann Bayly-Bruneel apart is her ability to use embodied ‘creativity’ to bring about our shared humanity and restorative well-BEING. Ann is inspirational, influential, and a true visionary. Her radically compassionate and inclusive approach to living supports social and liberated consciousness and awakens us to infinite possibilities for innovation and collaboration.
An internationally recognised psychotherapist for over 2 decades, Ann has both witnessed and experienced the reverberations of trauma across people and systems. She recognizes how our own embodied healing is the compassionate pathway forward to support us in radically co-designing a new world and engaging in life with an expanded capacity to soften, collaborate, liberate and deepen community care.
Ann has facilitated personal and professional transformation for hundreds across the globe through Assisting various Somatic Experiencing Trainings and collaborating with others through her successful psychotherapy practice; Heart-sight Psychotherapy. Ann aligns with communities that support trauma healing, healing justice, and restorative well-BEING. As a heart-centered human, Ann BElieves that relationships are key to our co-evolution. Having a spirit of collaboration that can uplift each other’s sovereignty, self-agency and authenticity simultaneously is fundamental to shift old paradigms and ignite a kinder, braver and more just world.
Ann works alongside others and within a trauma healing centre to optimize the conditions of support necessary to build a healing matrix. Ann’s courageous and radically compassionate path to living has seen her win many awards. Recently, she was awarded the prestigious CREA Global Award from Brainz Magazine for 2023 for her role in psychotherapy and being a Transformational Leader/Coach. In addition, she was awarded as the Top Psychotherapist of 2024 from the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP), as well as by Unified Brainz as part of their Global Game Changers. Ann is also an Artist, Writer, and Activist who uses her art, writing, and soul-stirrings to help inspire others to notice and awaken to their own social and liberated consciousness.
Ann loves being a mom, partner, and friend. She feels grateful for her family and proud of her commitment to BE a socially conscious and active member of her community. Based in London, Ontario (Canada), Ann surmises, “As I reflect on my life, I see the brilliant signs that converged and led me incrementally to my heart’s calling. I was a curious and inquisitive child who was gifted with a sensitive soul and an exploratory nature. I loved being with nature. Climbing trees helped me to notice the fine details, the horizon and bigger landscape simultaneously. I learned to listen deeply to the language of the unspoken and non-verbal world and this helped me to hone and cultivate my intuition, compassion and curiousity. My heart-sight led me towards a path of learning about psyche, soul, and embodiment; which ultimately catalyzed a pathway for unlearning, decolonizing and shedding layers of intergenerational and intersectional trauma & systemic oppression. As a female-identified person in a patriarchal, capitalist, hierachical society, there is a lot to reclaim and restore in order to reconnect to our embodied essence and flow. I am grateful for my mentors and heart-full soul-family. Through my own cultivated wisdom and commitment to serve, I have the profound opportunity to support and amplify relational and authentic healing for many. I am deeply grateful for these healing connections.”
Ann completed her BA Honors in Psychology and Fine Arts from the University of Guelph, and Masters level training in Art Therapy from Vancouver Art Therapy Institute (VATI). In addition, she studied Somatic Experiencing, NARM, IFS, Reiki, Mindful Self-Compassion and other relationally attuned therapies to deepen her capacity to support growth and transformation in herself and others. She learned to challenge conventional ideas rooted in systemic forms of oppression and hold space and care for other ways of being, knowing and engaging with life.
Ann has now worked in mental health, addiction, and trauma for over 20 years across hospitals, community, and private practice settings. She works alongside people of all ages who experience complex, developmental and intersectional trauma. Ann celebrates all expressions of diversity and multi-dimensionality and honours our innate goodness, resiliency and shared humanity. Her work supports individuals, couples and families with processes of post-traumatic growth, restorative justice and repair.
A combination of nature, nurture, creativity and play helps her overcome challenges. “Some challenges I encounter are the narrow and limited ways that our life experiences and relationships are devalued. As humans, we have been conditioned to prioritize academic pursuits over lived and cultivated wisdom and to reduce the significance of our interconnectivity and being-ness. For me, this paradigm is old and reductive and excludes the possibility of a brilliance yet to be discovered. I recognize the limitations of the written word and the polarization inherent in language and traditional systems. I honour nuance and complexity. I was guided to pay attention to what lies below and above words and not to get lost in some of the categories or labels that others give meaning to or acquiesce to social or gender norms that don’t serve who we are as multi-dimensional beings.
Being a person who will engage in the process of questioning the imposed frameworks is not always welcomed— AND life expands to the degree and the kinds of questions that we are willing to ask and fully lean into. ~ I am grateful for this ever-curious part of me that orients me towards more possibility, receptivity, hope, love, coherence and peace.
Ann is passionate about encouraging and co-creating a world where we are celebrated as we are and honour our innate authentic sense of BElonging. Her desire is to assist in building embodied conscious communities where healing engagement is centered and creativity and play are magnified. She values collaboration and recognizes that we are interconnected and interdependent and has thus chosen a path of service, deep listening, and continuous co-evolving.
An inspiring leader in the community, Ann believes that being a leader is possible for anyone and that it exists outside of the traditional idea of title, role, or achievements. With optimum and equitable support, we all have the capacity to live a life of our own design and BE of greater service to support our individual and collective well-BEING.
Ann’s focus is to deeply support others to be in a radical compassionate relationship to their own embodied self-agency and self-leadership so that they can BE in fuller connection to their own passion, choices, authenticity and boundless joy! This healing allows for deep processes of transformation, both on the individual, collective and system-level. I am in awe everyday of the open-hearted and expanding ripple that grows from a healing matrix of love and BE-longing and thankful to have my work and life so intentionally interwoven.
