Singer-composer enthralling global audiences in over 12 languages
Amidst the multitude of new age musicians, the youthful and dainty Vaishnavi Shriram towers above others with her multifaceted skills and a wide range of musical ability. In the industry for more than 5 years, she’s a much sought after vocalist, composer, and international performer. What renders her unique is that she’s a polyglot, and can sing in more than 12 Indian and foreign languages!
She’s is the lead vocalist and composer of hit song ‘Samjhe Na’ from the film London Misal directed by Jalinder Kumbhar , and “Sajda Karun” from the film ‘Pehla Nasha’ streaming on Youtube.
Some of her popular vocal renditions include the Marathi songs ‘Daryache Kinari’, ‘Majhyashi Bolna’, ‘Behaal Dil’, and ‘The Love Mashup’ by Sunny Phalke. Her latest original “Intezaar” was aired on Fever 104 FM & Radio Gupshup 94.3 FM
Born and brought up in the hub of creative entertainment that is Mumbai, Vaishnavi started learning music as a hobby, as most children do. However, ever since she turned eight, it was clear to all that music is where her bright future lay.
In 2019, she completed her Bachelors of Arts in Music Production and Composition from Whistling Woods International. She also holds ABRSM Level 1 and level 2 and Level 3 award in Music theory (distinction) from The Associated Board of The Royal Schools of Music. And has completed her Diploma in Singing from The ITA School of Performing Arts.
She has also completed her 4th year of Shashtriya Sangeet (Gandharva Mahavidhyalaya) and continues her taalim under Shri Murtuza Mustafa Khan (Rampur Sahaswan Gharana). She is also training in Western Vocals and Vocal Hygiene from Shri Haroon Akhtar, and pursuing Sound Engineering from Tag Institute (The Audio Guys institute).
To promote her craft on the global stage, Vaishnavi established her own music production and entertainment company – Kalliop Productions, which organizes a variety of exclusive events for groups as well as corporates. Some of her curated shows include Valentine special ‘Ishq Wala Love’, Ghazal tribute ‘Irshad’, ‘Bollywood time machine” and Tribute to Rafi ji performed @ Royal Opera House, Mumai” .While her live performances have reached lakhs of audiences online and offline, her Originals coupled with work with other channels has bagged her over 3 million views. She along with her fellow colleagues Saloni Desai and Rajanka Bomble created an All Girls Band – Oh My Chords
A scintillating performer, Vaishnavi has performed in front of stalwarts like Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma, Alka Yagnik, Amitabh Bhattacharya, Sukhvinder Singh, Anu Malik, Pyarelal ji, to name a few. Her greatest memories is when she performed a Korean song in front of the great Asha Bhosle ji.
In addition to hundreds of live shows, Vaishnavi was the lead celebrity performer in ‘Rajasthan Idol’
Unbeknown to many, Vaishnavi is an entrepreneur and a music philanthropist. She regularly performs for charitable causes – Rotary club of various districts; Old age homes and orphanages supported by Shri Rakesh Anand Bakshi; etc. She has been mentored by Shri Subhash Ghai and had the opportunity to render her Vocals and contribute as composer for various prestigious social videos like ‘Swatchh Ganga Abhiyan’, ‘Om Shanti’, and others.
A complete musician, Vaishnavi’s talent and contribution to the field has been acknowledged and honoured in myriad ways:
- Certificate of Honour issued by Bharatiya Janata Party as Accomplished Singer-Composer under ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’.
- Awarded by Election Commissioner of India, Mr. Sunil Arora for contribution to the motivational song ‘Vote Dene Jayenge’.
- Received Letter of Excellence from Bramha Kumari Ashram for meditative rendition of the song ‘Shanti Om’.
- Winner of ‘Rotal’ Rotary District 3142 for 2 consecutive years (Singing and Dance).
- Credited for back vocals in recent movies like ‘Dabaang 3’, ‘Pagalpanti’, and others under the guidance of Shri Aditya Dev.
- Work aired on FM Radio, National Television, and Private Channels for social and spiritual projects.
- Covered and interviewed by various national newspapers, magazines, and radio.
A new age artist, Vaishnavi’s work transcends the traditional mediums of music composition. She has been working closely with Music Director Shri Sameer Patherpekar for the Marathi web series ‘Samantar’ as a Music Programmer. She has played a significant part in his devotional video ‘Om Gaan Ganapatheye’. Meanwhile her Originals – ‘Yaad Un Lamhon Ki’, ‘Mushkil Ki Ghadi’, and ‘Ek Rab Ek Jahaan’ have been released on Youtube, Spotify, and Apple Music and all popular music streaming platforms .
A multi-talented artiste, it takes many by surprise to know that Vaishnavi is equally proficient in other art forms like dance and painting. She has completed Arangetram in Bharatanatyam from Sanskriti Academy, certified by International Dance Council. She has also attended a certificate course in acting from Subhash Academy. In addition, she is a Member of the ‘Indian Singer and Musicians Rights Association’ and ‘International Fellowship of Rotarian Musicians’.
A highly collaborative musician in the modern competitive world, Vaishnavi aims to create ‘The Indian Music Wave’ and accomplish global trends with her innovative music and songs. Currently, she is awaiting the album release of her all girls band – Oh My Chords; her half a dozen Originals are in various stages of production; and she is working as a Background Music Arranger-Producer-Composer on an upcoming short film ‘Being Millennials’. Some would surmise that the supremely talented Vaishnavi Shriram has just begun.
