With an envious track-record of transforming healthcare/ hospital operations to become accessible, innovative, and profitable at the same time, Prashun P. Chatterjee has emerged as a Leader in the field of Healthcare/Hospital Management. In the field for more than 3 decades across cities such as Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Bangalore, Guwahati in India and Toronto in Canada, presently he is the CEO & Founder Director of Prashunc Consultancy (OPC) Pvt. Ltd. and Executive Director of eAge Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. – Healthcare Consulting Companies headquartered in Kolkata, India.

Back in his hometown after 5 decades, Prashun’s family moved to Mumbai when he was just 3. His father was an Aeronautical Engineer with Dalmia Airways and was later transferred as the Sales & Marketing Head of their cement and plywood business. Prashun thus did his schooling from BES High School Dadar; junior college from SIES College Sion; and BE Electronics & Instrumentation from Vivekananda Education Society’s Institute of Technology, Chembur, Mumbai. He then obtained admission to the prestigious Indian Institute of Management Kolkata (IIMC) to complete his post-graduation in Business Management.

Since early childhood, Prashun was fun loving and got along amiably with people of all ages, often emerging as the leader of the pack. Confident and positive, he opted for a career in Sales & Marketing. With a technical mind and a strong public relationship mindset, he got selected in Hinditron Services Pvt. Ltd. through campus placement.

The next couple of years saw him ascend professionally through Wipro GE Medical Systems, NIIT Ltd, and WSI Internet Consulting & Education (Toronto, Canada). In 2008, he returned to India and joined Manipal Health System in a challenging leadership role as the COO of their Heart Institute with a mandate to make it run profitably as it was incurring losses due to internal turmoil and attrition of key doctors. Prashun managed to turn it around within 1 year of his intervention!

Thereafter, he was hired by Institute of Neuroscience Kolkata as CEO of their 150 bedded single super specialty hospital with a bigger challenge to get them operationally profitable in terms of cash flow. This time, he achieved his target within 6 months! In 2020, he switched to Nemcare Hospitals, Guwahati, Assam as their group CEO, turning them from a 280M cumulative loss to 120M cumulative profit along with getting them the highest level of quality accreditation in his tenure of 3 years.

Today, he is the CEO & Founder Director of Prashunc Consultancy (OPC) Pvt. Ltd. and Executive Director of eAge Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. – Healthcare Consulting Companies with global operations. “Now my role is to improve the financial health of hospitals and establish their brand identity through people, process, and technology (and if required, funding). I want to fulfill my passion of being compassionate about others’ well-being and giving back to society. I want to be known by what I am as a person rather than the chairs I hold.”

Prashun’s strength has always been his unique combination of Intelligence Quotient, Emotional Quotient, and Knowledge Quotient, and using it effectively in situations. A thorough people’s person and a task manager focusing ethically on financial, operational, and quality outcomes, his business strategies are based on the 5 pillars of – People, Process, Technology, Finance, and Optimization.

• Recognised and awarded as Best Performer in Wipro GE, NIIT, and WSI Canada year after year before switching to leadership roles.
• His region (Western) recognised as best performer in Service Sales in 1996, 1997 and 1998 in GE Medical System.
• Best Mentor in 2003, 2004 and 2005 in WSI Canada.
• As a leader, achieved financial success with operational and quality deliverables in organisations like Manipal Heart Institute, Institute of Neuroscience Kolkata, and Nemcare Hospitals, Guwahati.
• Institute of Neuroscience Kolkata was recognised as #1 Single Superspecialty Hospital in the entire Eastern India in 2013.
• Awarded ‘Outstanding Leader in Healthcare’ by Health 2.0 in their conference held in Dubai, June 2023.

From a healthcare standpoint, Prashun has helped to strengthen the economy by improving public health. He has invested in various initiatives and disease prevention programs promoting healthy lifestyles, providing access to vaccinations, and implementing effective disease control measures. He has encouraged medical research and innovation, enhancing healthcare infrastructure, and promoting healthcare education & training.
