Scion to the legacy of KSV Tax Consultants
Born in the small town of Rewari in Haryana, India, no one could have guessed that, one day, Dr. Sachin Sharma would lead his family law firm to global recognition. Yet today, as the award-winning Managing Partner at KSV Tax Consultants, not only does Dr. Sharma advice national and international clients, but is also an empaneled Trainer on various State and Central Government Department for trade and industry.
Raised in a close-knit family in Rewari, Dr. Sachin moved across cities and countries to pursue his higher education. He completed his BA LLB (Hons.) from the University of Rajasthan; Company Secretary from Institute of Company Secretaries of India; LLM in Commercial Law from University of Bristol, UK; and Doctor of Laws – Taxation Law(Goods and Services Tax in India) from JECRC University.
Heir to an illustrious legacy of over 7 decades, Dr. Sachin worked his way up through a number of legal and taxation firms before joining the rungs of his family business. These included Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A Shroff & Co; Perfect Accounting & Shared Services Pvt. Ltd.; Indian Law Institute; Helping hands (NGO); etc. and. He finally found his way to KSV in 2013 as an Associate in Indirect Taxation.
KSV Tax Consultants, Auditors, and Advocates was established by Sachin’s grandfather Late Sh. K.L. Sharma, Advocate in 1950’s, with the 3rd generation at the helm of affairs today. A reputed Taxation and Corporate Law firm with offices in Delhi, Gurgaon, Rewari and Jaipur, the firm serves more than 400 group of clients nationally and internationally.
When Dr. Sachin took over as the Managing Partner more than a decade ago, he successfully enhanced the work of his forefathers by consolidating and registering all their legal services under the banner of KSV, and expanding the business globally.
“My grandfather ran the business within a stipulated area of say 100 kms. But we worked hard to reach pan India and now even the UK, US, UAE, etc. We have also associated with other firms who have different specializations than ours, thereby providing our clients a complete 360 degree package of legal and financial services.”
Today, KSV is well known for its delivery of positive results. Dr. Sachin has no qualms admitting that their success ratio is as high as 95%. With special expertise in the Auto Sector, FMCG, Apparel, Fashion Brands etc. they plan to open offices in Mumbai and Gujarat soon.
One big reason for the firm’s continual success is the good face value they enjoy in the market for having served for more than 7 decades as well as for providing pro bono trainings. Dr. Sachin himself is empanelled with the various Government Departments for providing training to trade and industry.
“Ever since GST was introduced, we have been providing training sessions and consultancy services on behalf of various departments of the Government of India as well as State Government Departments to the industry and government officials, free of cost. In this way, we played a small part in making the GST transition easy and contribute to society. Today, people are aware that we have the knowledge, and we’re happy to share it and remain updated ourselves.”
Nevertheless, nothing can curtail the success that Dr. Sharma has achieved. Speaking of the passion that drives him, he says, “One, I’m a luxury lover. I truly believe that if you do your work honestly, you will get rewarded. Sky’s the limit. Two, every case is a new story and thereby a new learning. There are new opportunities, new challenges, yet no stereotypes, and certainly no monotony.”
