Global Icon of Pharma Compliance
Can you possibly feel the pain of a mother who gave poison to her child in the form of adulterated medicine? Ensuring that only quality medicine reaches into the hands of people with proper Audit and Compliance is what inspires Dr. Rupali Paranjape to break the glass ceiling as a Global Icon of Pharma Compliance.
“I have come to realize that the experience of achieving compliance is a tremendous psychological stressor to Pharmaceutical Companies and Pharma Professionals. It has therefore been my goal to not just be a ‘Compliance Auditor’, but to act as a partner of my clients and offer them simple, fast and workable solutions to their regulatory problems or issues. To help Pharmaceutical Companies attain the highest level of compliance and save huge expenses & cost due to non- compliance by Implementation of cGMP on sites”
Based in Vadodara, Gujarat, Dr. Paranjape is a Ph.D. Chemistry (Pharmaceutical Analysis), PGDRA, PGDIPR, MBA, and
ISO 9001:2015 QMS Lead Auditor. Her story, is one of grit and dedication.
A young Rupali began her journey when she did not even have a 2-wheeler to go to office. She used to struggle to reach office by changing multiple modes of public transportation after preparing food at home. During her 1st pregnancy, she was too shy to share the news at her workplace, and continued to perform testing which involved even cyanogen bromide, a highly toxic substance. This was the beginning of her struggle between a mother and an ambitious woman.
“Sometimes, my eyes get filled with tears remembering that once when my daughter was suffering from 102 degree fever, I was working at my office. The same has happened on so many festivals and holidays. There was no awareness about women’s rights at that time. I was at a very junior level, and afraid to state and prioritise my children’s health. It still feels painful to prioritise work over their exams and other important events.”
Constantly balancing home and work with care, Dr. Paranjape managed to succeed where few women tread. A trailblazer in the field of Pharma Compliance today, she is an Auditor, Trainer, Consultant and Implementer for Regulatory Compliance having worked in Pharma companies for more than two decades.
After leading operations in various multinationals such as Alembic and Apicore in the field of Regulatory Affairs, Compliance, Quality Control, and ADL, she now practices as an independent consultant through her reputable firm – Blue Ocean Compliance, which she established in July 2020. “We actively engage with companies to help them achieve not just regulatory requirements, but also evolve their mindset by refocusing their operational modus operandi towards a strong Quality Culture.”
A published author, Dr. Paranjape has reinforced this ideology in her bestselling book – ‘Blue Ocean of Compliance’ (www.drrupaliparanjape.com).
As a respected thought leader, she imparts training to Pharma companies and has given Keynote speeches in IPA (Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance), many International Conferences & Exhibitions on Pharma, Healthcare & Technology and Pharmacy colleges to inspire pharma professionals. She recently delivered a TedX talk in Kalbadevi, Mumbai on ‘Compliance – A key to saving lives.’ Her articles and interviews have been featured across the global pharma publications.

Dr. Paranjape was a born auditor. “Now when I look back, I realise auditing is in my DNA. In school, I was the Discipline Minister, I had to watch out for anything that wasn’t ‘up to code’. I have always double checked before signing any document, and double researched before taking any medicine. Before taking the Covid vaccine too, I checked the expiry, batch no, syringe, etc. While sometimes this can slow me down, quality is part of who I am!”
An inspiring leader, Dr. Paranjape not only handles compliance related issues, but also empowers professionals working in Pharmaceutical Industry to increase their competency and live their life with legacy, fulfillment, and abundance.
“I hope that with the elaborate services that I have curated for my clients, I will be able to touch more companies and bring about a culture of positivity in their regulatory, quality in their culture, and certainty in their compliance.”
