Spreading ‘Mom Magic’ around the world
If being a mother especially a professional one at that is the most difficult job in the world, it explains why Angela Bell is winning accolades and blessings in equal measure from moms across the globe. Angela is the founder of The Mom Magic Anthology Series and The Mom Magic Movement. She is also the Founder and CEO at The Inspired & Profitable Mompreneur Business, Podcast, Magazine & TV Show.
As a multi-passionate entrepreneur and business coach for mothers, she has built multiple 6-7 figure businesses, published several books, and helped hundreds of women launch and grow their own Inspired & Profitable online business. In short, Angela is on a mission to empower moms around the world to stand in their power, embrace their dreams, create their own business, and live their very best lives on their own terms!
All this, while being a mother to twins herself. “Life is an adventure, full of ups and downs. Five years into running my family’s food manufacturing business, my father died suddenly in a car accident. He was my business partner, mentor, and best friend. Working through the grief while running a business and raising two young kids was hard. A year later, our business went bankrupt. While these challenges were terrifying, they taught me some of the best lessons and proved to me that I can overcome anything and always rise.”
With resilience in her backbone, Angela woke up every morning committed to add more joy to the world. As a new mother herself, she naturally turned towards the narrative around motherhood, which she discovered needs to change. “There is no such thing as ‘just a mom’. Mothers are superheroes and should be revered as such. I want to elevate the status of mothers.”
A MBA from the Western New England University, Angela was well versed in the role of women at the workplace. While improvements are certainly being made, she feels more can be done to support women, especially mothers.
“Moms are the glue that hold society together. They shoulder so many roles and responsibilities. And yet, being a mom is looked at like a detriment. Moms will get more work done in 2 hours than their colleagues will in 8. They have a bigger why, are more focused, and know how to prioritize. If Corporations give them the flexibility they need to balance work and life, the rewards they get in return will be exponential.”
Angela discovered her calling once she realized that she could succeed by just being her. She had tried to ‘look the part’ and be what others wanted her to be, in order to fit in. “But now I know that my uniqueness is my superpower. I know that by shining brightly, I give the people around me permission to do the same. The world needs everyone’s unique gifts, not watered down copies.”
Today, she feels inspired by all those people who stay true to themselves, even when everyone around them tells them to change. Her kids inspire her too – They are curious and open to new experiences and information, and don’t have any preconceived judgements. Yet, her biggest role model remains her father, who was kind, fair, and a great leader. “He valued everyone, and people left every interaction with him feeling better about themselves.”
Imbibing all his winning qualities, Angela herself has emerged an inspiration. We ask her how she achieves the elusive balance, and she replies, “We have this idea that balance means focusing equally on all things. For me, balance is knowing what to focus on and how to shift your focus as life happens. My twins were born when I was building a new manufacturing facility. I refused to accept that I had to choose between being a good mom and a good business owner. I found ways to make it work for me. I got help, asked for help, and accepted help when it was offered. I gave myself grace. And I maintained my own priorities, not the priorities others tried to force upon me.”
Till date, Angela saves her weekends only for the family – Walking in the forest, painting, baking or doing crafts. “It is important to me that I enjoy my life and my time with my kids.”
A 3X International Best Selling Author and Public Speaker, she leaves us with an important message: “Speak your truth, stand in your power, and be your authentic self. If you dim your light to fit in, you deny the world of ever experiencing your unique gifts and talents.”
