Global Catalyst in Healthcare & Wellness
The formidable Sanjeev Kumar has excelled in a myriad of fields from being a Wall Street based global financial professional to entrepreneurship and writing. Today, he is a global award-winning CEO, Chief Visionary Officer, and an Author of 5 books. Having dabbled in diverse industries over 2 decades, Sanjeev’s passion met a purpose in the field of healthcare & wellness, and he is now transforming the world with his Harley Street Healthcare Group.
Reflecting on his successful journey, he says, “Sustainability and longevity of a business is dependent on its ability to adapt and evolve, or you will sleepwalk into irrelevance. Leaders who build incredible businesses do tend to have a different appreciation for risk. My portfolio of businesses covers healthcare & wellness, technology, hospitality, energy, infrastructure and aviation, among others. And healthcare is where my passion meets a purpose.”
Sanjeev established the Harley Street Healthcare Group in 2017. HSHG is a global healthcare company with a mission to create community centered health & wellness through various programmes and products.
“All of us are born in our true home, in other words, our bodies. You can buy a new house or a car, but not a new body. Yet most of us aren’t good at taking good care of it. Over 70% of our illnesses are now down to our lifestyle. This is why we are building HARLEY of LONDON, to become an invested partner in people’s health and wellness journeys.”
Based in London (UK), Sanjeev pursued an international education. He completed his Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania; Master’s in Finance from Western International University; a Diploma from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv; and corporate & communication management from Harvard Business School.
“My late father was always fascinated by degrees, and I would think that me having a few Masters’ degrees had something to do with that. I remember how pleased he was to see me win the Southeast Asia Young Achievers Award some 20 years ago.” Over time, Sanjeev also won the Global Indian of the Year 2020-21 and the 2021 Man of Excellence Award.
“The urge to do good and create a sustainable long term for society at large value by doing something that has not been done before is what drives me. As I continue to spend more time on growing my healthcare business, I see building something that will not only outlive me but will also end up creating continuous value for society,” he says.
A serial entrepreneur, Sanjeev is also the Director/Group CEO of the prestigious Delamore & Owl Group of Companies, as well as the Founder/Global CEO of DTM Global Holdings, a tech and media company. In addition, he has founded other initiatives such as Imagination@WORK; 9Visions; and theBaG.
“Being an entrepreneur is hard. Going into the unknown is a humbling experience. The journey might break you and it will continually test you. So, you will have to develop strong resilience and have a very high pain threshold. It will build your character and shape you as a person. But it is clearly not for everyone.
There is no universal recipe for being a successful entrepreneur because there are always a number of variables at play, one of them being luck. You can learn from other entrepreneurs, but you will have to figure things out on your own.”
Sanjeev has not only figured it out, but is also a willing collaborator through his books and blog – www.sonykumar.com. He has written 5 books – Poems of Self discovery, Journey of a Human Mind, A Wandering State of Mind, Prisoner of a Mind, and From the Diary of a Nobody. As an author, he is a regular contributor on platforms that he thinks are helping shape the future of financial markets and global business.
“I am a product of trial and error, and I would say that I am always in awe of nature. It is my true home. All of my learning and realizations come from nature. And therefore, everything I do or have built takes aspirations from nature. I believe one must master the art of value creation and building things that will last.”
Sanjeev’s resilience and innovation have made him a strategic leader in the modern world. Sharing his mantra, he leaves a message for all our readers: Nobody is ever born with prior knowledge of how to live a good life, so most of us have to learn on the go. Life or, as I prefer to say, living, is the best teacher. You will have to learn to be your own best friend and also your anchor. As you learn more, you may realize that, in fact, you are your biggest investment and the best asset. The world feels special because you are a part of it. You had no say in your creation and your end is guaranteed, so spend more time with yourself every day without worrying about what you can’t control.
