Leen Clive is a passionate trainee doctor, renowned beauty queen, model, social media influencer and, above all, a role model. She is also a TV presenter hosting a weekly TV show called ‘From London with Love’. She has won Top Model Classic Worldwide 2022 and will compete as Mrs UK for Mrs World 2023. Besides this, she is continuing her study aspiring to be a surgeon and is an exemplar for girls all around the world that ‘any dream you think of is achievable with grit and determination’.
Born in the city of Damascus in Syria, Leen’s inspirational story is worthy of a round of applause. Being displaced by the tragic war happening in her native land, she learned the important lesson of not taking life for granted. She arrived in the UK in 2013 and has studied hard to pursue being a doctor.
Currently a trainee doctor, continuing her study aspiring to be a surgeon also a model. She has been a runway model for London Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week and Asia Fashion Week, to name a few. Her flawless beauty and bespoke personality, coupled with her academic vigour, have made her grab headlines around the globe.
She has even learned the English language and got the opportunity to host her own talk show. “I was invited to a TV interview with the official British family journalist, Ian Turner, in which he noticed my broad ambition and my determination to fulfil my dreams. After the interview, journalist Ian offered me to work at the station and present a weekly TV program at the station centre in London.” Leen recalls.
An ardent supporter of gender equality, she is the Equality Ambassador for Britain and is striving to raise awareness of the same through many campaigns. She states, “I have been appointed as an ambassador for a campaign calling for equality in society. The campaign calls for standing and solidarity with any group in society that has been subjected to unfair treatment or has been subjected to distinction in Britain and abroad.”
Besides this, she also runs a campaign to support mental health called “Be Kind to Yourself”, which is based on raising awareness of mental health issues where she interviews specialists and talks about mental health issues. She does this with her multiple platforms across the digital space where equality and empowerment are at the forefront.
Her two-year-old daughter Arabella is the reason behind her passion for pursuing her goals, and she says, “I would never wish for her to give up on her dreams, so I must never give up on mine. When I was growing up, I didn’t have a role model to look up to – an example of what is possible in life. I wish to be that example for my daughter.”
For her, family always comes first, as she feels grateful for their love and support. Her husband and daughter provide her with all the strength that she needs and all the joy that her heart can contain. Having the right balance between family life and her career in media and medicine can become challenging. But in her case, family always wins!
In her spare time, she loves training in self-defence which she feels keeps her fit both mentally and physically. She remarks, “I believe it is very important for every female to be able to defend themselves.” Her refreshing approach to female empowerment is especially noteworthy as she strives to make the world a better place one day at a time.
Her life as a former refugee who started afresh in a new country and then represented the country on the world stage is surely awe-inspiring. She says, “I know what it is like to lose everything and have to start from zero. I have learnt that with courage, hard work and perseverance, a fresh start can be fertile ground.”
