In the bustling lanes of North Madras, amidst the chaos of a turbulent childhood, Bharath Vaddi’s story began. Raised in the shadows of his mother’s battle with schizophrenia, which was diagnosed when he was merely 10, Bharath’s early years were marked by resilience and determination. Despite the odds, he emerged as a bright student, graduating with distinction as a mechanical engineer from Madras University.

But it was during his college days that Bharath’s ingenuity shone through. Converting a Maruti 800 into an electric car showcased his knack for innovation. A chance victory in a national-level IT quiz competition propelled him into the world of computers and coding, leading to a career-defining journey.

In the midst of his career ascension, Bharath encountered personal setbacks that would test his resolve. Despite acing the GMAT and interviews for prestigious MBA programs in Britain and Singapore, his aspirations were put on hold. A tragedy struck when his father passed away suddenly due to a heart attack during a holiday in Shimla. Left as the sole caretaker of his ailing mother, Bharath had to put his ambitions on hold to attend to his familial responsibilities.

Amidst these personal trials, fate dealt another blow when Bharath received a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis just a month before his wedding. However, buoyed by his determination and the unconditional support of his then-girlfriend, now wife, Bharath forged ahead. Despite familial objections, his partner stood by him, advocating for their union. Eventually, they were blessed with a daughter in 2012, who remains the love of his life. These personal milestones, amidst professional achievements, prove Bharath’s determination and the strength of his relationships.

Professionally, Bharath’s ascent continued, landing him as a high-performing Vice President at Standard Chartered Bank.

Bharath’s journey into entrepreneurship was not merely a career shift but a profound realization of his passions. While initially trained as a mechanical engineer, it was his tenure at Infosys that unveiled his latent love for coding and the intricacies of the investment banking domain.

Transitioning from a background in mechanical engineering to the world of coding presented Bharath with formidable challenges. The initial phases were marked by a sense of overwhelm as he found himself amidst some of the brightest minds at Infosys. However, rather than being deterred, Bharath’s inherent curiosity propelled him forward. Each day became an opportunity to test his limits and push the boundaries of his knowledge and skill set.

Bharath’s appetite for business stems from a deep-seated passion for mental health. Despite setbacks due to a lack of qualifications, he remains committed to making a difference in this field.

Additionally, Bharath invests significant effort in researching Multiple Sclerosis treatments, drawing from his experiences in clinical trials. Professionally, he thrives in crisis situations and is known for his problem-solving prowess and proactive approach to challenges at work. 

In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bharath adapted to remote work dynamics, focusing on professional development and cherishing moments with loved ones.

Bharath’s strengths in emotional intelligence, problem-solving, and communication have been instrumental in his success. Yet he acknowledges his weakness in excessive self-criticism, a trait he seeks to overcome.

Driven by a quest for purpose, Bharath’s mantra for growth and success revolves around conquering self-doubt.
