For Able Wanamakok, communication has never been merely a profession; it has been a journey of resilience, self-discovery and service. Today, as a coach, speaker and founder of Find Your Voice Asia, she empowers others to cultivate confidence and authenticity through communication. Yet her own path towards finding her voice was shaped by years of uncertainty, adaptation and perseverance.

There was a time when she questioned her abilities and wondered whether she possessed the strength to overcome life’s obstacles. Despite not always feeling truly “able,” she continued moving forward, learning from setbacks and challenges. Able believes many of these experiences were guided by God, offering lessons in perseverance, self-awareness and growth, eventually enabling her to give back through coaching, speaking and meaningful human connection.

Now standing at what she describes as a full-circle moment, she has embraced a purpose centred on creating impact through communication and public speaking, helping individuals recognise the value of their own stories and voices.

Her journey began in Hong Kong before a major transition transformed her life. At the age of ten, she moved to the United States without speaking English, entering an unfamiliar environment where language, culture and identity often became barriers to connection. As a young Chinese immigrant, she frequently felt like an outsider and struggled to find a sense of belonging.

Over time, she began to see those experiences differently. More than three decades later, she regards being an outsider as a source of empathy, resilience and adaptability.

“Being an outsider eventually became my superpower,” she reflects. This perspective now enables her to connect naturally with audiences from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Professionally, Able’s journey has been equally dynamic. At twenty-five, she relocated to Phuket, where she began her career as a News Presenter and newspaper advertising sales professional with the Phuket Gazette. What started as an opportunity in media soon evolved into a broader career spanning journalism, public relations and mass communication.

Over the years, she refined her abilities as a presenter, earning the trust of organisers across multiple sectors. Fluent in English, Thai and Cantonese, she established herself as a trilingual emcee capable of engaging audiences across cultures.

Through these experiences, Able realised that communication is not simply about speaking effectively, but about creating genuine human connection. Her multicultural background enables her to engage audiences with empathy and authenticity, particularly those who often feel unheard or misunderstood.

In 2017, she founded Find Your Voice Asia, an initiative dedicated to helping individuals become more confident, compassionate and capable communicators. Drawing upon years of experience in presenting, hosting and public speaking, she teaches children, professionals and aspiring speakers how to communicate with clarity, confidence and kindness.

Today, she is also part of Artist Hub Thailand (AHT), a new operations initiative guided by the motto, “Local Talents. Global Events.” The platform connects event organisers with Thailand’s finest performers, including DJs, live bands, MCs, traditional dance troupes and more, enabling clients to discover, book and manage entertainment for events in one place. Together, Find Your Voice Asia and Artist Hub Thailand reflect her commitment to empowering people, amplifying talent and fostering meaningful connections.
For Able, these ventures represent far more than professional milestones. They embody her journey of embracing her identity and encouraging others to discover strength within their own stories.

Her inspiration remains deeply rooted in family. She credits her parents for shaping many of the insights that have influenced her understanding of communication, relationships and self-awareness. While observing limitations in emotional intelligence motivated her to become more conscious of the impact words can have, she speaks with gratitude about the love and support she received.
She believes people are imperfect by nature, yet even difficult experiences can become catalysts for growth. Her parents, she says, provided everything she needed to remain motivated, grounded and determined.

Persistence remains one of Able’s defining strengths. She likens herself to a long-distance runner, continually moving forward regardless of setbacks. Supported by a lifestyle built around self-care, family time, rest and intentional living, she has cultivated the stamina necessary to sustain both personal fulfilment and professional excellence.

At the same time, she speaks candidly about her sensitivity towards words and criticism. There were periods when self-doubt encouraged her to overwork in an effort to compensate for feelings of inadequacy, occasionally leading to burnout. Greater self-awareness, however, has enabled her to establish healthier boundaries and build a more balanced relationship with success.
For Able, balance begins with prioritisation. Health remains her foremost commitment because she recognises that wellbeing forms the foundation for every other responsibility she carries. Through yoga, mindfulness and self-awareness, she has created a framework that allows her to nurture her children, support her husband and pursue her professional aspirations with purpose.

Her leadership philosophy reflects these values. She believes in leading by example, encouraging collaboration and guiding others with patience and understanding. While she values accountability, she remains firmly committed to kindness, maintaining that respect and civility should never be compromised.

Away from professional commitments, she finds joy in spending time in nature, enjoying favourite meals and unwinding with a good Netflix series.

For Able Wanamakok, finding one’s voice is not about becoming louder, but about becoming more authentic, self-aware and willing to transform life’s challenges into opportunities for connection, compassion and meaningful change.
