Silicon Valley has become a land of dreams where endless possibilities jump out of the canvas into reality. The phenomenal boom of technology in the last 30 years has been monumental and has become an invaluable part of our lives on a daily basis. The driving forces behind the tech giants sitting in Silicon Valley have one thing in common: their Indian origin. India has been a breeding ground for some of the mega minds in this industry, with a staggering 10% of the CEOs in the Fortune Global 500 companies being of Indian descent, according to a survey.

This is just a numeric display of Indians taking over the tech world with their grit, intelligence and determination to make a gigantic mark on the world. Leadership is in their DNA, and this is backed by their extensive training in engineering from the most prestigious universities both in India and abroad. Harnessing the same, they are making waves with their diligence to make their respective companies skyrocket to success.

Tech giant Microsoft has grown exponentially under the firm leadership of CEO Satya Nadella, who is responsible for making the company move towards Artificial intelligence and cloud computing from the normal software that is their signature. Born and brought up in Hyderabad, Nadella earned his Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology before joining the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee for an MBA in Computer Science. He joined Microsoft in 1992 and, became the CEO in 2014, and has retained the position ever since.

Shantanu Narayen

Adobe Systems is one of the cornerstones of design tools, and it has become an indispensable platform for most designers who offer a range of services. Narayen has been playing a pivotal role in making Adobe a platform of the future by making it cloud-based and deviating from the software version. Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Marketing Cloud and Adobe Document Cloud are some of the recent additions under his guidance. Hailing from Hyderabad, Narayen earned his MBA at the University of California, Berkeley, where he started working with the company. In 2007, he was named the CEO, and he hasn’t looked back since.

Padmasree Warrior

A powerful woman in tech, Padmasree Warrior is the former CEO of NIO USA and former CTO of Cisco Systems.
