Leadership is often born not from comfort, but from courage. For Renota Wade, that courage took shape early, long before titles, accolades, or executive roles followed. Becoming a mother at just 17 in Chicago, she faced a crossroads that could have defined her limits. Instead, it became the starting point of a journey marked by perseverance, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to growth.
“I was determined to pursue my education and career,” Renota reflects. That determination would carry her through decades of professional excellence, academic distinction, and community leadership, earning her recognition as one of the Women Leaders to Look Up To in 2026.
Renota’s academic journey is a testament to discipline and vision. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, graduating summa cum laude, and later completed her master’s degree in entrepreneurship with an impressive 3.87 GPA. These achievements were not merely credentials but foundations, tools she would later use to transform complex financial systems and empower organizations from within.
With over 20 years of experience in accounts receivable and revenue cycle management, Renota has built a formidable career within the healthcare sector. Her leadership roles at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and, more recently, as Revenue Cycle Manager at Beloved Community Family Wellness Center, positioned her at the heart of financial optimization and operational excellence. In her current role, she oversees revenue processes, streamlines financial operations, and drives sustainable improvements that directly impact organizational stability and patient-centered care, skills she has honed and applied consistently across leadership roles for more than 16 years.
“My work has always been about more than numbers,” she says. “It’s about creating systems that allow people and organizations to function at their best.”
That philosophy also guides her entrepreneurial vision. Through her company, Elite Revenue Recovery, LLC, Renota has consulted in the RCM space and is preparing to take on full-time clients in the coming year, extending her expertise beyond institutions and into broader strategic partnerships.
Yet, Renota’s leadership is not defined solely by professional success. Her inspiration is deeply personal rooted in motherhood, resilience, and the lessons learned from navigating adversity. “Overcoming challenges taught me the value of perseverance and hard work,” she shares. This belief fuels her long-term goals, which include expanding real estate ventures alongside her husband to support community initiatives, particularly in mental health and education for underserved youth.
At the core of Renota’s leadership style is adaptability. Thriving in changing environments, she approaches challenges with creativity and clarity. At the same time, she embraces self-awareness. “Delegation has been a growth area for me,” she admits candidly. Learning to trust others, she notes, has strengthened teamwork and sparked innovation reinforcing her belief that leadership is as much about empowerment as it is about execution.
Balancing professional demands with personal life is a discipline Renota approaches intentionally. Clear boundaries, detailed scheduling, and a strong support system help her remain grounded. She prioritizes self-care through hiking, reading, and creative outlets like candle making simple rituals that restore balance. Above all, time spent with her three children and seven grandchildren remains her greatest joy, anchoring her success in relationships that matter most.
Renota’s collaborative leadership style fosters inclusivity and trust. She values open communication, listens deeply, and encourages diverse perspectives. By setting clear goals while granting autonomy, she creates environments where individuals feel seen, supported, and motivated to excel.
Her contributions have not gone unnoticed. Renota received the prestigious Officer of the Year award from the AAPC as Vice President of the Chicago chapter, an honour awarded to only one officer among 500 chapters nationwide. She has been listed in Marquis Who’s Who in America, recognized as one of the Most Influential Women in 2025, earned a Foundation of Leadership certificate from the National Society of Leadership and Success, and was inducted into the Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society in Business.
Through it all, her mission remains clear. “Your journey matters, and every step counts,” Renota says, a message that lies at the heart of her nonprofit initiative, TOUCH (Teaching Others You Can Heal) Foundation. Her call to action is both simple and powerful: pursue your passions relentlessly, uplift others, and believe in the transformative power of education and community.
In Renota Wade’s story, leadership is not inherited, it is built, step by step, through resilience, service, and an unshakable belief in possibility. And that is precisely what makes her a leader to look up to in 2026 and beyond.
