Wordsmiths rejoiced bookworms revealed, and stories took flight in the latest edition of Literati – IIT Delhi’s annual literary fest. It aimed to transcend the boundaries of a literary fest, all credits to the management of the Board for Student Publications. A range of events, panels, and stalls had more than just book lovers enthralled.
Words across Borders – the fest’s theme perfectly signified the organizing committee’s aim – to unite people through their love for literature.
The vibrant book fair was a paradise for bibliophiles, showcasing various genres and hidden literary gems. Authors interacted with eager readers, personalized copies, and ignited a love for reading in many. The Songwriting workshop had attendees bonding over their first lyrics, and the Comic-making workshop had them visualizing their inner artists. Lextapes – the one-of-a-kind Storytelling competition had participants innovating their spoken word through music, lighting, and props. Panel discussions and keynotes delved into diverse themes, from the impact of AI on the arts to the role of the press and media in wartime. These stimulating exchanges sparked thought-provoking conversations and challenged perspectives.
Lively discussions and engaging interactions fostered a sense of camaraderie and shared passion for the written word. The festival brought together diverse individuals, united by their love for literature.
Each day’s closing performances had attendees mesmerized and yearning for more, from the Mushaira to the spectacular stage play by Asmita Theater. The closing ceremony was graced by the presence of Padma Bhushan awardee Rajeev Sethi, whose annual lecture was a mind-opening experience. Performances by spoken word poets from the Delhi Slam had the audience snapping, captivated by the raw emotion and powerful imagery.
The fest concluded with a stand-up comedy set by Rahul Dua, whose experiences and comedy resonated with everyone and had the audience in stitches.
