Jyotishman’s academic journey began at Carmel School and DPS Digboi and Bhavans Kolkata, culminating with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Manipal Institute of Technology. During his college years, he demonstrated nascent leadership potential as the President of the Student Council, leading a vibrant student body of over 5,000. Following graduation, he embarked on his professional journey as a software developer at EMC Corporation in Bangalore, contributing to the development of their first cloud enterprise software. Driven by a thirst for knowledge, Jyotishman pursued an MBA in Finance from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, a prestigious institution that equipped him with a formidable financial acumen.
Jyotishman’s next move saw him transition to EY (Ernst & Young) as a strategy and operations consultant. Here, he served as a trusted advisor to CxOs, providing invaluable guidance on a wide range of business challenges, encompassing everything from long-term strategic planning to product launches. He thrived in this role, leading teams, cultivating strong client relationships, and spearheading recruitment efforts for the firm.
Seeking new horizons, Jyotishman joined Dell Technologies’ central corporate strategy team. Here, he played a pivotal role in managing the annual planning cycle and high-profile special projects for the company’s CFO and CEO.
For the past three years, Jyotishman has been a driving force at Google as a Strategy and Operations professional. He played a key role in establishing a new business unit, nurturing it from a fledgling operation to a thriving team of over 115 members within a mere two years. Additionally, he spearheaded a cross-functional task force tasked with developing innovative solutions to address user privacy and ensure user safety in the wake of the impending deprecation of third-party cookies, an industry-shifting event. His ability to navigate complex situations like this has been a hallmark of his career. Currently, he is using his expertise to influence the roadmap and help launch & grow Google Ads’ Gemini-based AI Assistant designed to help solve customer support problems. A cutting-edge technology that has the power to impact over 3 million businesses globally.
Jyotishman espouses the belief that luck is an inevitable byproduct of relentless hard work and unwavering focus on controllable factors. His decade-long career in business strategy has been a testament to this philosophy. He has tackled numerous challenges head-on, notably playing a pivotal role in the colossal merger of two tech giants valued at a staggering $7 billion. Google presented a unique set of challenges, from balancing user privacy with delivering accurate advertising to leveraging AI to optimize business outcomes—experiences that significantly bolstered his leadership capabilities.
Jyotishman thrives on the intellectual challenge of solving complex problems.
