Built to Lead, Wired to Care

He doesn’t announce his presence with fanfare. There’s no bravado in his tone, no curated grandeur in his story. And yet, when Gregory Schipilliti steps into a room or onto a challenge things begin to move. Systems evolve. Strategies sharpen. People listen. Because Goyo, as he insists everyone call him, is that rare kind of leader who doesn’t build empires for applause he builds them because someone must do it right.

“I’m not sure what makes me a candidate for recognition,” he says humbly. “But I can speak about my drive to be consistent in my craft, to innovate, and to solve the big questions.” For Goyo, awards are meaningful, but never the goal. “If this is about celebrating those making real contributions, then I accept. But my greatest accomplishment is, without question, my family.”

From the farmlands of Madrid to the suburbs of New Jersey, Goyo’s early years were as grounded as they were formative. “Those chapters shaped how I think,” he reflects. “They gave me my lens for leadership and life.” Through every career milestone from strategy to product development to operational excellence—he’s carried a single question with him: How can I use this moment to create progress for the world we share?

His first internship with Gucci as a university student was a wake-up call. “That’s when I realized: the platform matters. Where you choose to stand can shape the impact you can make.” From that point on, he made a habit of stepping onto big stages—not for the applause, but for the opportunity to create ripple effects. Over the years, he’s worked with global banks, iconic retail houses, CPG giants, hospitality legends, and rising fintech stars. But his compass has always pointed in one direction—forward.

“My inspiration?” he says, pausing only briefly. “My family. My wife—my hero and best friend. My three daughters—my guiding stars. And my parents, whose sacrifices still shape me every day.” These aren’t just niceties—they’re the foundation on which his entire worldview is built. “Whatever I’ve achieved, it comes from love. That’s the force behind the grind.”

It’s perhaps this grounding that makes Goyo’s leadership so distinctive. Ask him about his strengths, and he’ll say, “I know I’m never the smartest person in the room. And that’s my superpower.” Instead, he focuses obsessively on strategy, decisiveness, and execution. He builds high-performing teams, fosters trust, and thrives on data-driven clarity. “My weakness?” he laughs. “Time. There are never enough hours in the day. Being a dad is my greatest gift and biggest challenge. I’ve had to become more relentless—and I still need more sleep!”

Balance, for him, is less about perfect ratios and more about honest prioritization. “Someone smarter than me once said your life breaks down into three pillars: family, self, and work. And depending on where you are in life, you can only do two really well at once.” Goyo admits that today, his pillars are ordered—family, self, and profession—and he adjusts based on what each chapter demands.

So how does he recharge? Not by checking out, but by plugging into what really matters. “Unwinding for me is recalibrating,” he explains. “It’s time with my wife and daughters, laughing with my siblings, walking my fur babies. It’s a good circle of friends. A good workout. And if my health permits—a really good Tempranillo.”

His leadership style? A blend of vision and realism. He believes in fostering accountability, inviting feedback, and leading with both data and heart. “We must create organizations where people know their value. Where efficiency and innovation coexist. Where you can break bread before breaking the system—if it means building something better.”

But behind this methodical brilliance is a simple, resonant truth: Goyo leads with soul. “I lost my mother in 2020,” he shares, his voice softening. “She used to say, ‘Trauma lives in the past. Your attitude shapes the future. How you make people feel—that stays forever.’”

That’s why, no matter the storm, Goyo has a go-to answer when asked how he’s doing: “Happy, and you?”

As for accolades, he’s earned more than a few. But he doesn’t list them. “If you want the résumé, it’s out there,” he grins. “What I’m proud of is this: I married my best friend. I’m raising daughters I adore. I’ve had extraordinary mentors and fierce allies. And I’ve been given a life I never take for granted.”

In a world chasing noise, Gregory Schipilliti walks quietly—and powerfully. Not ahead of the crowd, but beside it. Not in search of glory, but grounded in gratitude. His is the kind of leadership that doesn’t need a podium. It builds one—for others to stand on.
